Step 1: Balance the water

Balance is not only the first step, but the most important step toward achieving an inviting pool.

Proper pH must be maintained in the pool at all times. This is vital. A pH level outside 7.2 to 7.6 will greatly reduce the effectiveness of pool chemicals. (Learn more from our Glossary, offering definitions and ranges.)

• Test the pH level at least three times a week.

• Use Blue Wave pH REDUCER or Blue Wave pH INCREASER to bring pH into proper range.

• In cases where it is difficult to maintain the pH level, check total alkalinity and ensure it is in the ideal range. Adjust alkalinity ranges as necessary.

Step 2: Sanitize

Blue Wave SANITIZING TABLETS are the premier choice for pool sanitization. These specially compressed 3-inch tablets dissolve slowly, steadily releasing free chlorine into the pool water—wiping out bacteria to keep water clean and pure. Step 3: Shock
